Paper Crafts Pro Alisa Bangerter has been paper crafting her entire life. She started stamping and scrapbooking with her mother when she was just a little girl, making holiday and party favors and decorations. Later, when she became a mother herself, she started scrapbooking her children’s lives, but always used the extra supplies to make cards. After winning the layout contest at the very first CKU, she decided to submit projects for publication. She has had the opportunity to be associated with Paper Crafts since the premier issue. In addition to being a designer for Paper Crafts magazine, she is part of the editorial board and helps answer the Ask the Pros column in the monthly issues. Alisa loves to paper craft because it can be done at any hour, it allows her to stretch her creativity, and is a great way to give back to her friends and family.
Alisa lives in Utah with her husband Tim and her two teenage children Braden and Brynna. She is a registered nurse, the Party and Holiday Idea Contributor for KSL TV - Studio 5, and a co-author of a holiday idea book. When not paper crafting, Alisa loves to cook, read, play the piano, take photos, and make cupcakes!
Paper Crafts Pro Wendy Johnson has been paper crafting ever since she was a little girl. She remembers standing in the aisle of her favorite florist shop that sold rows and rows of stickers. She would stand there and very carefully study each one trying to decide which one to add to her collection. She would save her pennies, nickels and dimes and it was such a treat to spend 25 cents on a sticker as soon as she would have enough money! She is grateful for a mother who taught her to sew, tole paint, stamp, paper craft, and get messy at the kitchen table as they made “diddy’s” together. She has had the amazing opportunity to be a part of Paper Crafts magazine since the very beginning and has also authored, The Joy of Card Making idea books. She loves to share ideas with others as a PC Pro and on the editorial board.
When Wendy isn’t playing with paper scraps, she loves a good book, traveling, photography, throwing a party and watching her children play sports. She lives in Cottonwood, CA with her super cute husband, Scott, and her two adorable children, Dallas and Kayli.
Paper Crafts Pro Kim Kesti is a self proclaimed paper crafting addict. Her favorite thing to do is retreat to her cozy craft space and dive into new projects. She describes her style as bright, bold, and a little bit funky. Kim started playing with paper when the scrapbooking craze was in full swing and was entered into the Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame in 2005. After accumulating quite a bunch of supplies, she turned to card making and altered projects to get more mileage from her stash. Since then, paper crafting has become her first love. Kim’s projects are usually easy to spot. She relies on her large supply of textured cardstock and loves working with unusual color combinations. Kim enjoys searching for up and coming trends in print media and on the Internet and uses inspiration from those sources for her cards and hand crafted gifts. “There’s inspiration everywhere, you just have to open your mind,” says Kim.
In addition to paper crafting, Kim also enjoys knitting, hand stitching, photography and organizing her scrappy space. She loves pedicures, hot sunny days and cuddling with her new baby Eloise. She lives in Phoenix with her husband Keith and seven older children (Harrison, Sophie, Clara, Ethan, Meghan, Christopher and Tristam). She feels very blessed in her life and considers being a Paper Crafts Pro a “dream job”.
Paper Crafts Pro Susan Neal has extensive experience in the paper crafting industry, having designed for Paper Crafts since its premiere issue in 2004. She currently serves as a PC Pro, which includes design, editorial board duties, teaching and promotion. You can see her regular contributions in the Ask the Pros column and quarterly in the PC101 column. Her “clever hands”, as her Mother still calls them, have been busy creating since she was a child. As an adult Sue turned her creative skills to business, eventually authoring four decorative painting books entitled Love Me Knots. To Sue paper crafting is the perfect creative outlet. It’s inexpensive, quick, versatile and practical! As a busy Mom, practical is a lifesaver! There is always a need for a card, gift packaging or the gift, so there are plenty of opportunities to ‘play’ with paper.
Sue was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, and lived in Waterloo, Ontario for 13 years. She currently resides in Utah with her husband of 25 years, Steve, three of her five children, two cats, one hamster, one bird and a snake. When not parenting or paper crafting, she loves to read, garden, cook, travel and ride her Yamaha 125 dirt bike with her husband.
