Swap Guidelines

SWAP PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

  • Be reliable and 100% committed. Submit your cards by the swap deadline.
  • Do your best! No one expects prize-winning cards, but neatness and thoughtfulness will be appreciated.
  • Label the back of your cards with your name and e-mail address, so recipients can contact you if they have questions. Include a small printed page that lists the materials you used.
  • Mail your cards in a plastic bag inserted in a bubble mailer to protect them from water and other damage.
  • Include a return address label and postage.
  • Write the swap name on the outside of your package to assist the host in sorting.

    SWAP HOSTING GUIDELINES

  • Determine the number of group members. We recommend 12 or fewer members.
  • You may want to organize your swap around a Pick a theme. You might try a holiday, color scheme, or design technique.
  • Learn mailing terms so you can quickly communicate swap details with group members. A few basic terms include SAML (Self-addressed mailing label), SASE (Self-addressed stamped envelopeExtend an invitation that includes all the necessary info, including the number of cards participants need to make. Most swaps are one card per person in the group, including an extra card for the hostess as a thank you for coordinating the swap.
  • Send a reminder to participants as the deadline approaches.
  • Collect the submissions and distribute the cards.

    MESSAGE POSTING GUIDELINES

Anyone may read messages, but to post a reply you need to be a member. (Become a member now.) For each message you post, you can select whether to allow others to contact you from the board. Messages can be sent to you without revealing your e-mail address. If you choose to reply to such messages, your e-mail address will be revealed to the recipient.

You must create a forum name, or alias, to identify yourself (do not use your real full name). To change your forum name, log in and go to the member home page (follow the link to the member home page from the left menu bar once you are logged in) and click Edit Profile.

By using this message board, you agree to adhere to the following guidelines.

    • You agree to not make personal attacks, or "flames." (Flames are comments about a person rather than about his or her opinions.) In addition, you agree to refrain from posting libelous remarks about companies or individuals. Libel is defined in Webster's II New College Dictionary as, "A written, printed or pictorial statement that defames one's character or reputation or exposes one to public ridicule." We reserve the right to remove messages that we consider libelous. Be aware that if you post libelous remarks, legal action can be taken against you. To learn more about libel, see www.firstgov.gov or the Libel Defense Resource Center.

    • You agree to refrain from posting messages about products or services for sale. No advertising of any kind is permitted, including mentions of any consulting affiliation or any other solicitations. You may not sign your name or post under any name that includes an advertising affiliation. Consumers are welcome to share their ideas about products, however, those who are personally selling products or work for companies that sell those products may not promote their own products.

    • We reserve the right to delete any messages at any time.

    • We reserve the right to ban from the message board those who violate these standards. You can report violations of these standards by sending an e-mail message to papercraftsonline@primedia.com.

    • Do not post personal messages intended to a single person. Send a message directly to your friend rather than posting publicly on the message board.

    • You agree to refrain from discussing any illegal or illicit activities.

    • For your own protection, use good judgment when sharing personal information (e-mail address, phone number, home address, etc.) with others on the site.
